The kingspan tek building system comprises 142 mm or 172 mm thick structural insulated panels sips with a high performance fibre free rigid urethane insulation core sandwiched between two layers of oriented strand board type 3 osb 3.

The least expensive way to build a well insulated enclosure is monoslope construction with sips. I always place the supports below the panels not in them. They can be used as the roof structure itself or used to clad and insulate other roof structures oak trusses steel etc. Sips eco panel roof panels can be used with the sip panel wall system or on its own with other constructions brick and block timber frame.

Can recessed lights be used in sips. Sip floor systems frequently use engineered wood splines to increase the stiffness. Whenever possible i use a beam rafter design as opposed to a purlin so you can stack the panesl up the roof. To install recessed lights an interior soffit must be constructed.

Buildings up to 20 feet wide with flat or shed roofs are ideal for this system. 6 will span 8ft 8 will span 10ft 10 will span 12ft 12 will span 14 ft will they span farther yes a little with out putting lumber of i joist into them. Sips can span long distances allowing a minimal amount of structural supports to be used. Ask your local sales representative for more details.
