The adults are small 1 16 to 1 8 inch oval shaped beetles ranging in color from black to various mottled patterns of white brown yellow and orange. Carpet beetles measure just 1 16 to 1 8 inches long about the size of a pinhead and vary in color. Others might be mottled with spots of brown and black on a lighter background. Slow moving tiny black beetles that crawl or fly around homes.

Carpet beetles are covered in tiny hairs which are difficult to see unless you look at them under magnification. They measure up to 0 1 3 mm in length. Adult carpet beetles feed on flower pollen and do not damage woolens and other fabrics. Most adult carpet beetles range from 2 mm to 5 mm in length with very short clubbed antennae and chewing mouthparts.

They can cause damage to natural cloth fibers or cereals. These small black bugs have short oval body and short inconspicuous antennae on their head. They vary in size from 1 8 th to 3 16 th of an inch in length. Carpet beetles in general are oval in shape and appear dark brown to black in colour.

Like many other beetles they are round or oval and convex like ladybugs. Eggs are pearly white in color and small. Carpet beetles are tiny black beetles that can be found in the house.
